Fido Can’t Read Our Minds!
While browsing blogs last week, Mrs. Turner came across this post from Thoughts on Teaching:
” I’m sure the Fido Puzzle shows some type of mathematical formula in action. If I was a math teacher, I’m sure I’d know what it is and I’d put my students to work figuring it out as quickly as possible…”
Believing that third graders can do anything, Mrs. Turner took on the challenge and printed out the worksheet the blog author had devised. Students took the work home and completed the basic calculations. The next day in class we took a look at our results…
…and we found the pattern. Try it yourself! Email us if you need help, but no fair invoking the “20-Minute Frustration Limit” on this one, it may take an hour or two!
